Interpretation

The ideal interpreter is the one who’s presence is not felt when the message is transmitted, because they do it so well, the parties feel they are speaking directly to one another.

Interpretation is the communication of an oral message into another language. The ideal interpreter must possess excellent mental agility, an equivalent command of both languages and of the subject matter, and the ability to convey meaning in the same register and with the same implicit information, but also with the same emotions. Few people have these skills.
